Swarm of Bees Confirmed for Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special?

A swarm of bees - likely the common honey bee - is rumoured to be making an appearance in this year’s Doctor Who 50th anniversary special, say sources close to the production.

“We’ve been trying to get the bees for the 50th anniversary for some time,” says the anonymous source, “and we’re thrilled that they’ve finally said yes. Expect to see the bees buzzing onto your screens this November!”

Representatives for the swarm of bees have refused to comment on the news, and the bees themselves remarkably tight-lipped on the subject since it was first raised in an interview three months ago. However at no point have they denied plans to appear in the episode.

This adds to the laundry list of characters, actors and individuals signed up to appear in what promises to be a spectacular 90 minutes of television. The list, so far, includes:

  • All the Doctors, including the dead ones and the two non-canonical ones
  • Patrick Stewart
  • A bear
  • Manchester United
  • Link from “The Legend of Zelda”
  • Green Day
  • John Cleese
  • The cast of Red Dwarf
  • Andre the Giant
  • Windows 8
  • Another bear
  • Matt Smith’s parallel-universe doppelganger, Smatt Mith
  • Hubris
  • Snoop Dogg (aka Snoop Lion)
  • Trees
  • Skis
  • Fleas
  • Peas
  • John Barrowman

More information on the special, which will obviously take place during the Time War or some shit, as we have it.
